QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE: THOMAS J. RICHARDS
More about Your Representative
I have served as a legislative analyst for one of the fastest growing cities in California. As an elected official, I was also elected to that city’s planning commission where I was the youngest member. I fought hard against large companies who were trying to destroy not only the city’s economy but also the environment. Thankfully, I won and stopped most of them from destroying our hills and byways. I have also served as a legislative analyst for McLean County Illinois and helped to write legislation for the State General Assembly. I have also served under President Ronald Regan’s government as a legislative analyst and cost cutter in Washington D.C. for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
My education, due in part to the financial help of my parents is diversified. Your candidate has a B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University in political science and theatre arts, graduating Magna Cum Laude. This dual degree allowed me to research not only Christian philosophies but also the philosophies of many other religions and their people across the world.
I have an M.B.A from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in business strategy, marketing, finance, accounting and price negotiation. I also have an M.A. in New Product Adoption which I received from Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland and I have completed my PhD. Thesis.
This candidate has worked in business since 1979. For more than 40 years, I have managed or owned many successful businesses in the United States and the Republic of Ireland.
This puts me in a much better position to understand the economic plight of those who are needy and do something about it; understand the many global communities who live in our great County; and apply business knowledge and my years of experience visiting or living and working in other countries to the benefit of all voters and their families in this County and our State.
